Custom Lumber
Custom Orders
From pine framing lumber to walnut slabs, white oak trailer decking to cedar closet paneling, if I can get the logs I can price and fill your order.
I have a cycling inventory of domestic hard and soft woods. Call for availability.
Custom orders are GREEN LUMBER. This means the orders have high moisture content and are not stable. Some projects are suitable to be built from green lumber, but many projects require stable, dry lumber. If you have time I can give you some tips to dry the lumber yourself, but if you don’t have that kind of time, there are a number of kilns in the area that offer drying services and I am happy to connect you with them.
Retail Lumber
I maintain a constantly changing inventory of domestic hardwoods and softwoods, including: Ash, Black Walnut, Soft Maple, Poplar, Red Oaks (red, pin, willow, scarlet, etc.) White Oak, Hickory and Southern Yellow Pine.
Other species may become available, so call for info.
Typically my lumber is air dried. Occasionally I will have some inventory that has been kiln dried and sterilized.
Retail lumber prices change based on market factors. Contacting me for current pricing is the best way to get pricing info.
Slabs
My Woodmizer LT50 Wide is capable of cutting up to 34” wide slabs.
I typically slab logs to either 9/4 (2.25”) or 13/4 (3.25”) in thickness. These slabs are air dried, the moisture content of slabs purchased from me will vary based on the amount of time they have been drying. I always recommend letting slabs acclimate to the environment they will be installed in prior to flattening. Sending them to a kiln to be sterilized* is not a bad idea either if you have concerns about powder post beetles, though it is not required.
Inventory and pricing subject to change. Contact me for a list of inventory.
*Sterilized: heated to a core temperature of ~130F to kill off any insect eggs or larva that may be present.
