Portable Sawmilling at your Location

If you have logs on your property and want to turn them into usable lumber, I will bring the mill to you. I operate as a one-person crew using the Woodmizer LT50 Wide bandsaw mill to process your timber on-site to virtually any dimensions you need. If you do not have a project in mind or a prepared cut-list, I will happily offer my expertise to get the most value from your timber.

Typically on milling day the customer would provide physical assistance, including pulling boards off the mill as they are cut, stacking lumber, and facilitating the milling process under my supervision. It is a lot of physical labor, and my machine can keep up to 3 helpers consistently busy all day. The more helpers that are available, the faster I can process the logs, ultimately saving the customer money.

With that said, every milling job is unique, and I tailor my approach to suit the specific needs of your project, ensuring efficient and professional results.

Milling Rates

• Milling rate: $120/hour*

• Blade cost: $25 per blade used**

• Daily travel fee: Calculated based on travel time to your location

* If customers are unable to provide physical assistance on milling day and the job is large enough to require my to provide additional labor, my milling rate is adjusted to $160/hr to cover my additional labor cost. 

**Blades longevity varies. A single blade may last anywhere from 1-3 hours. Wood density, grain texture, moisture, resin content can all affect the useful lifespan of a blade. As a blade begins to wear, cut quality decreases rapidly.  I use my best judgement of when to change blades. Checking your logs to ensure there is no metal, gravel, or dirt embedded in them is something you can do in advance to make sure you are not wasting extra money on blades.
